trophy WA2002 bimini question

I recently bought a 2006 Trophy WA model 2002 with bimini; I am trying to resolve the storage issue/problem with this bimini; previous owner simply stored it in his truck and "installed" it each trip out; he also suggested storing it in cuddy, which I have done. However, this is a real headache in that it is awkward to get bimini and frame in and out of cuddy; is there not an easy way to fold this bimini/frame over the windshield for storing and trailering purposes? I know that it is better to minimize exposure to UV, etc., but it is VERY inconvenient set-up as it is now. Perhaps I could get new bimini hardware to re-position the bimini slightly forward for storage/trailering purposes. Any ideas or suggestions?

Re: trophy WA2002 bimini question

The Bimini on my old boat folded forward and stored in front of the windshield. Bimini came with a storage "boot" that held the top in place with a couple of turn snaps

Re: trophy WA2002 bimini question

On my last boat with a bimini it would be lowered and the boot or cover put on. The cover will protect the top quite a bit. It was lowered to the stern and held down with bungi cords on the railing-- traveled everywhere up to 70 mph without a problem. I later purchased 2 Velcro straps at West Marine at $.99 each and one on each side made it a little quicker.

Re: trophy WA2002 bimini question

I had a 1996 Trophy 2002 WA. The bimini should wrap up with the bows and the boot covered all. Pull the pins and the bimini should fold forward and rest on top of the window frame. An alternative is to lay it aft and it should rest just in front of the engine cowling. If yours doesn't work like this (it should), then it may have been an aftermarket add-on. Adlust the mounting points and frame where it rests as designed.
