I recently bought a 1992 25hp Nissan outboard with non thru hub exhaust with a pin drive prop. I'm looking to replace the wrecked 9.9x13 prop that's on it but I cannot find that size pin drive prop for a Nissan. Will Johnson props work? Is there any other mfg with the same shaft size that will interchange? Also I see where it's simple on most Nissan 25hp's to convert to a 30hp. Will my 92 model convert the same way? Just a restriction plate? Thank you in advance for your time

Seems several sources only list tbru hub for 1992 25hp Nissans and Tohatsus.

Sure its a 1992 25hp pin drive?

I was told it was a 90 model 25hp Nissan but looking for parts I found that Nissan didn't start making them (or badging) them until 92 so I just assumed it was a 92. I will try to find the serial # this evening. I guess it could be a tohatsu with a Nissan cowling?

Perhaps, but I looked for Tohatsu too.

Iboats and 3 other sites all ONLY listed thru hub exhaust, no pin drives for several years before thru several after 1992, I checked

Well thank you for checking into that for me. I'll get the serial # and check back.

Turns out the motor is an 86 model. I still can't find the pin drive prop though... Any chance this is an older lower unit put under an 86 power head?

That I know all Nissans were rebadged Tohatsu models with own color and cowling styles, if can't find that pin, can always make one from a SS same diam drill bit, just cut to lenght.

Ooops, non thru hub props are very difficult to find these days, are extinted dinosaurs, can't yours be repaired at a prop shop ?

Possibly. It's very thin and two blades are miss shaped. I'm going to take it to the prop repairers as soon as I get a chance
