trouble going into reverse

Hi Ive got a 1998 monterey 180 w/4.3litre mercruiser, Ive noticed when I first launch I have trouble going into reverse the motor stalls out. No problems going forward and will go into reverse after it is warmed up fine. Any help would be appreciated.

you gotta give the engine time to warm up so the choke can kick off its good practice anyway putting a load on a cold engine is just beating it
