Hello everyone, new to forum and also new to boats. So i have a 1984 merc blackmax 150hp. I did a rebuild on the lower unit, and installed a brand new water pump. I started her up and im only getting a little drip from the nozzle in the back. And i am not sure on what to do to try to get that steady stream of water like your supposed to. I am running it on muffs.

The engine has sat for two years also. I had just bought the boat maybe 3 weeks ago

check, clean or replace t-stats.. most don't open right away when first started.. reason for justa drip.. you need a water pressure gauge... on tha hose water stuff be can be mis-leading at times...

So i did pull the thermostats i cleaned them up with some carb cleaaner and boiled to test. We also checked all the water lines and there was a deposit of some sort stuck in the very end where the nozzle is.
I am glad to say ive got full water now, nice healthy stream :) thank you

good for you!.. dirt dobbers/spiders suck.. short piece of .090/.080 weed eater string is really handy.............
