Hi Folks,

I am newbie I did a search on the forum but could not find a like posting. I have a 2002 Doral 192 Bow rider with Merc 4.3 EFI. The temp gauge stopped reading anything at the end of the year. Everything seems to work great but wondering how I can trouble shoot this to find out if it's the sending unit or the gauge. Is there a manual online some where for this engine. I seen a posting listing some sights that may have a pdf version of the manual but they don't seem to work.

Many Thanks,

Wayne

Easiest way to test the gauge is to remove the tan wire from the sender and, with the key ON, touch it to the engine block (NOT the thermostat housing). It should peg the gauge at the hot end... If it does, then check the body of the sender has a good connection to the engine block (NOT just the thermostat housing). If it has, replace the sender.

Sounds like a nice boat. Set up a thread and post some pics of it.

Thanks for the advise folks I will will try the tan wire trick on the weekend. I will also post some pictures of the boats as well. We just got it last summer and really enjoyed it. I am a sailor at heart by it's hard to pull a teenage son wake boarding behind a sailboat :)
