Im up to $3,200 on my free boat My uncle gave me.Now when I try to start it i get nothing If I spray starting fluid in the breather or spark plug holes it will start and run for 5 seconds. When i try it again it will run for 10 sec on 3rd or 4th try it will say running. rough in the begining then smoth out and run great.all the way to full throtle for an hour then if i shut it down for what ever reason it wont start and I have to use the starting fluid again. If I disconnect the fuel line on the carb side of fuel pump and pump primer ball I get fuel If I try to start motor I get a trickle or nothing any help would be appreciated

Have you taken the carbs apart yet? If you keep using starting fluid the next bill is going to be 2000 dollars for a new power head. That stuff will fry the cylinders and pistons. Use fogging oil as an alternative.

You may have a stuck needle or seat on one or more of your carbs and fuel is not getting into the fuel bowl. If it runs for a few seconds and dies take the float bowl off and see if there is gas in there. If not take the carb off and test by turning the carb upside down and blowing into the fuel line then turn it right side up and blowing into it. Carb upright with no gas you should be able to blow in it.

A little might come out. The fuel pump works on compression from the motor however with just the starter the amount coming out will me minimal.

It might be the idle circuits of the carbs are plugged. This can be fixed with carb removal and cleaning. There is a mixture adjust screw on the top front of the carb. Try removing that and spray some carb cleaner in that hole with the straw attachement then put the screw back in. Screw should be about 1 1/4 turns counterclockwise from lightly seated position.
