G'day all,
Went to use the Jabsco 18590 macerator to pull some clean water I was flushing thru the holding tank & found it wouldn't spin on its own. Turned the pump a couple turns with a screwdriver but still wouldn't go by itself. Opened it up & found no obstructions & could hear it spinning when I hit the button to run it while disassembled (It is too far from the button to see unfortunately). Reassembled & found once I had tightened the four nuts more than finger tight, it would lock up. Not sure what it could be binding on to cause this?
My 2 thoughts are:
Insufficient amperage getting to macerator to run under load? How would I measure this or perhaps voltage drop at the motor?
Something in the motor is fried?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
