TRS outdrive?

Any info out there on a TRS drive? I can't fine any past threads. Is is a drive that will swap similar to a bravo? I'm still checking the internet for outdrive swaps for my OMC king cobra and a potential donor boat came up with a 454 and a TRS drive. Just checking for compatability. Thanks

If your talking about swapping the outdrives then no it won't. In order to switch to a TRS you would have to install the complete transom assembly including the inner transom plate.I'm sure you would also have to do some fiberglass work on the transom. Also a TRS uses a transmission inside the boat between the engine and transom plate.Therefore the engine is about a foot more forward.Mercury stopped making the TRS in 1993.Parts can be found but are not readily available.
