trs trans cooler

have a trs w/a351 in a '78 wellcraft nova. got the boat from a freind for free as a basket case (i seem to be the king of free). there is a cooler on the side of the trans and seems to be some sort of raw water cooler. i cant figure out where to get the water from, and where to get it back out. am am new to the plumbing of i/o's and needs some help.

It's probably the transmission oil cooler. One end of the cooler is from the raw water pickup, the other end goes to the raw water pump.
