I need a loud horn for all the locks I pass through. So I'm going to get one of those 126dB AFI air horns. So I came up with what I thought was the perfect location to mount the single 9.5" trumpet (see blue oval below). BUT reading AFI's website, they mention that you should mount it someplace where it's not going to get splashed, or that it will see minimum splashing. Well, my boat is not that location. But that's really the only location. The only dry place to mount it would be under the dash. Are these trumpets ok to mount someplace like this? Is the website being overly cautious? Obviously the pump would be mounted below deck and kept nice and dry. Theres not a ton of space under there, but theres room for a little pump like that.
