These were sent to me via E-mail . If your State is mentioned , Would you agree or deny these bylaws to be true?

Strange United States Laws...

Console yourself with these real standing laws from around the United States of America that nobody pays attention to either.

Alabama:
1. It is illegal for a driver to be blindfolded while operating a vehicle.

California:
1. Community leaders passed an ordinance that makes it illegal for anyone to try and stop a child from playfully jumping over puddles of water.

Connecticut:
1. In Sarasota it is illegal to sing in a public place while attired in a swimsuit.
5. Men may not be seen publicly in any kind of strapless gown.

Illinois:
1. It is illegal for anyone to give lighted cigars to dogs, cats, and other domesticated animal kept as pets.

Indiana:
1. Bathing is prohibited during the winter.
2. Citizens are not allowed to attend a movie house or theater nor ride in a public streetcar within at least four hours after eating garlic. (a law that makes sense)

Iowa:
1. Kisses may last for as much as, but no more than, five minutes.

Kentucky:
1. By law, anyone who has been drinking is "sober" until he or she "cannot hold onto the ground."
2. It is illegal to transport an ice cream cone in your pocket.

Louisana:
1. It is illegal to rob a bank and then shoot at the bank teller with a water pistol.
2. Biting someone with your natural teeth is "simple assault," while biting someone with your false teeth is "aggravated assault."

Massachusetts:
1. Mourners at a wake may not eat more than three sandwiches.
2. Snoring is prohibited unless all bedroom windows are closed and securely locked.
3. An old ordinance declares goatees illegal unless you first pay a special license fee for the privilege of wearing one in public.

I have heard that it is illegal to plow cotton with an elephant in North Carolina. I wonder about plowing tobacco?

If it's true then it's never have and been enforced. Me think it fiction too, lots of those are unenforceable.

Re: Truth or Fiction???

funny thing is some of those laws are actually on the books, as late as 1980 the law in AL against ice cream in the pockets was as well as some other seriously stupid ones. I looked them up as a senior civics class paper on idiotic govt.
seems even back in the 1800's politicians were idiots.
if ya see something stupid there outta be a law.
if we outlaw stupidity only outlaws will be stupid.
gee I wonder why no politicians try to pass a stupidity law?
think how many problems that would solve? and how many new govt(public dole) jobs it would create.

I guess we ain't moving to Illinois. Onyx would have to give up his habit, and the patch won't stick to his fur.

Michigan used to have a law making it illegal to cuss in front of women and children. This law would've fit nicely into the list. A few years back someone was actually arrested and charged with breaking that law (Michigan's famous "Cussing Canoeist"), but he appealed the decision, and in the end the law was repealed.

Link to the Cussing Canoeist- www.freedomforum.org/templates/document.asp?documentID=15992
