Looks to me like you just suffered from unfortunate timing and no damage.

Re: trying to buy a propeller got the shaft

We don't get very many complaints on these forums about orders (probably one forum complaint every 30,000 orders) so we picked up on your problem first thing this morning. I spoke with Shelly, our customer service spvsr, and she looked at your order. Here is what happened.

We are getting the overstock props directly from the manufacturer at the incredible prices. They sold out of this individual prop before they contacted us to tell us to take it down. We still can get the prop from our other regular sources so that is why you can still find it but at our regular pricing. It was a matter of bad timing and we are sorry for the grief. We were not trying to cover a pricing mistake! Our blow out props are priced at incredible prices but once they sell out the pricing goes back to just our regular great deals. Every once in a long while we get our inventory count off by one and oversell one blow out prop too many. This is what happened to you.

That explanation doesn't solve your problem though. You still don't have a prop at a bragging deal. What we can do is to sell you the regular prop for half the difference in price between the close out price and the normal price. This pricing will be below our cost so this is not a bait and switch tactic. We want to try to still help you have a good iboats shopping experience.

Please note that when we emailed you about the prop being out of stock we immediately refunded your money and didn't even mention the other prop at regular price. We appreciate your business and hope what we came up with will keep it. Please ask for shelly in customer service when you call and she will help you out.

I personally do not think that iboats should have gone the extra mile. Life is too full of crybabies who have to dream up elaborate plots to cover their own bad luck or timing. Waaaaaaaaa!

Pandering to them only brings more people, who feel entitled, out of the woodwork.

Re: trying to buy a propeller got the shaft

Sorry but I am thinking that someone needs to take a lesson from Bennett.
If iboats took the order and ran out of stock they should honor the price or never took the order in the first place. Don't just say "we should have changed the price or it costs us more now" and refund the money. Was it explained that it was first come first serve? I doubt it. You all advertised the prop at a price. bigbad4cyl paid the price you asked. Give the man his prop even if you lose a couple bucks on it. You will probably end up with a customer for life because you did. Remember in business if you do a good job 5 people will be told about it but if you do a bad job 24 people on average are told about it. On a message board, well you can do the math. :(

all i can say is these people are top notch. they honord the price . .f screen nailed what they have done... but they have done so much more. keeping these forms alive is great ... ive rebuilt my boat and gotten emottional support from the rebuilding forms . a pluss, and i tell people about i boats at the west marines around here all the time.
