Trying to figure out this mix...

Another noob question.

My boat has 2 5gal metal tanks on it. Now Im raised on the metric system.. How many ML's of oil do I put into each tank for a 50:1 mix per tank?

I notice that when the boat ran there was a lot of blue smoke. Im assuming what the previous owner told me is indeed wrong for mixing.

sorry a canadian here too.

stores sell a gas can with a pre mix bottle on the side. pour the oil in one side, to where it says. then fill it up with gas.
when i had my ob thats what i did.

the guys here will tell you exactally tho. there really good.

my ob hardly smoked at all. or very little.


btw, whats gas worth in ont?
were a buck 13 ish in interior bc.

Oh neat! I gotta get me one of those bottles! Thanks very much. I didnt even know they existed. Someone musta got rich off a simple design like that!

Gas is 105.1 when I got it this morning.

To point out the obvious. 1ML oil for every 50ML of gas. The metric system makes it easy.

A half liter is very close to our pint. So 1/2 liter per full tank will be close enough to 50:1.

Use 20 ML's of Oil per Liter of gas. I usually add 40 ML's of oil to the tank along with gas stabalizer and then add 20 liters of gas. By adding the gas after the oil and stabalizer it mixes well. If you are using metal tanks keep an eye out for rust or else you will have problems down the road. Was in Petawawa last summer visiting my son and his family, really enjoyed the great pickerel fishing.

Yep. There is lots of pickerel here as there is a spawn site where the Petawawa River and the Ottawa River Meet. Never caught one myself, but Ive seen some interesting ones.
