I just bought a 1984 Rinker w/ the 3.7 188 the whole out unit was stolen I'm trying to figure out what is suposed to be on it he thinks it was alpha gen 2 does that sound right. my next question, I have pre-alpha unit i had off another boat that went bye bye. would this work at all every thing seems to be same to mount and shift i know the gear ratio is slower but just plan on fishing for now + just want to check every thing else out. He says it ran great i did read the problems w/the 3.7 oil looks clear and i dont see no streaming from timing cover.
