trying to find model number on 1957? johnson.

Picked up a 35Hp johnson with red color and white trim. I can't seem to find a model or serial number plate anywhere. Where should I be looking for these? Is there a model serial stamped on the engine anywhere?

Should be a plate under the front belly pan, on top of transom clamps and front handle, with model and serial number. A 57 Johnson 35 would be an RD-19 or RJ-19 I believe. Nice, stout, reliable motors. The plate is easily overlooked and often obscured/hidden by grease and dirt.
