I have been fixing up a 1992 Blue Fin Spectrum 1906 over the last few weeks. I am currently trying to add a second bilge pump and repair the livewell pump as well. Both are located in the aft of the boat below the transom.

The problem is I can see them, and even get my hand to them, but I do not have nearly enough room to be able to work on them or install a new pump. It also appears the transom aluminum is welded, so I am not sure about being able to access it from the top either.

There must be an easier way than having to rip the entire floor out isn't there?

HELP PLEASE!

Those pumps unclip from the strainer basket they sit in, look for the clips on the side, might be easier to push a screwdriver in one side to hold the clip and then use your fingers to release the other side.

I smashed mine tryting to get it out, when I went to buy new ones I made sure to buy something that is easy to extract with one hand, the johnson bilge pumps release by twisting to release then they come right out.
