Just picked up an old alumacraft (I believe) and it got YF R947 stamped in the transom support. The boat has a steering cockpit with 2 seats and one seat near the motor in the back. it also has that nifty little lip that catches water and drains it back out from the back so it doesn't go in th bilge...
any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Re: Trying to identify YF R947

As you can see from the pics it has the cable over pulley steering and the motor is a 1980 Evinrude 35 (I am thinking maybe not original to the boat). A review of the ND registration says it's a 14' Alumacraft but that's it. Since I can't find a hull id number I'm guessing it could be before 1972 as well. Here are some pics. Thanks for the help!

Too new for me, I'm afraid. My catalogues (and interest) ends in the early sixties. Have you tried calling Alumacraft? They've been very helpful to me in the past.

I called and left a message several days ago. I'll update when I hear from them.

Re: Trying to identify YF R947

Alumacraft called me back today with the following information:
Tampico (YFR) 1966 (947)
Kodiak (YF) if it didn't have the R it would be this
Thanks for your help (and to Alumacraft)
