Does anyone have any tips or tricks that might help me remove the transducer from the bottom of my boat (mounted inside boat). Looks like I will have to rip up a chunk of fiberglass to get it out? I have a Humminbird Wide Portrait and I think the transducer is bad. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.....Doug :)

Re: Trying to remove thru-hull transducer?

I think you would be better off just getting a new one.

By the way, what type of transducer is it, and how is it mounted. Epoxy or fiberglass resin.

I have a Lorad Flasher that has a transducer that the instructions say to mount on the tansom, but I would like to mount to the hull in the bottom of the boat. Will all transducers echo through the hull fiberglass.

Any info.

Arlan

Digdug,
Slowly apply acetone with a sponge around the base of the transducer and after a little while you can probably pry it off.
Good Luck,
Little Bear
