If it's coming down the MS River, do you still call it a Tsunami?

Re: Tsunami ?

IF it's going "UP" the Mississippi it would probably be a tidal bore-A high often breaking wave generated by a tide crest that advances rapidly up an estuary or river.

If it were coming "DOWN" stream I would call it a storm flow

Tsunami means Harbor Wave

Got that right Rob.... Moved everthing out again.... Never done that before: or twice in the same month. But I've never seen a 10' rise on the Ms. in 12 hours either. People on the Ohio must be catching it as well.

I live near the Ohio and Mississippi rivers. We have major flooding going on here. I've measured over 10'' of rain in the past 48 hrs. (the rain guage overflowed once).
The "City Of New Orleans" Amtrack train is stuck here in Carbondale due to high water over the tracks to the south.
