Hello all. I have a ranger bass boat. I am interested in tubing from it. There is another post on this page about using the transom tie down eyes. I do not feel comfortable using them. I have seen them ripped of before from tubing or other similar activities. I have heard there are poles you can add in place of my rear pedestal seat. Any experience with this??? Best place to pick one up??? Thanks

Re: tubing, sking, etc...???

I know a friend of mine used his tie down hooks on his Champion for tubing.
I have used them on two boats I used to have.
We used a tow harness. You should be able to get one at Wallyworld.
But, uncomfortable is the key word here.
If you would feel better with the ski pole, go that route. I would think most any boat dealer or marina should have one.
Also look at Overton's. I have seen them on their site.
Happy tubing:p

If you do not feel comfortable with transom tie down eyes to pull a tuber then you probably shouldn't feel comfortable using them to hold your boat on the trailer either.

If you have a newer or even older solid boat you should have no problem and he peple that have ripped them out either had issues with the strength of there boat or were misusing them in some way.

The key is to not jerk the rope when pulling some one you have to accelerate slowly untill the rope is taught and then you can gun it. Gun it while there is slack in the rope and you are asking for problems.

Well y'know, most bass boat only weigh 2000-3000 pounds.

Have you seen some of the people that get in them?

(I'm just joking! Please don't sit on me!)
