Re: Tuna NJ

Today would be the perfect time to start.
There is a lot to learn about the gear ,the methods and the where abouts of the canyons that tuna like to frequent.
If you start all that homework now,you will be well prepared when June comes around and the tuna shows up near the coast.

I have been known to frequent that hole, but these days I cannot afford the time or the fuel expense to voyage well over 90 miles.Never mind staying awake all night.
I go the cheap way and catch them on Stellwagen and off Chatham.
By the way,"make sure the plug is in" is my signature and has been for almost six years.

1st week of october.

That is if your cannyon running. Not just tuna; dorado and sword also.

Do yourself a favor also; upgrade to some decent equipment. For years I used penn 5/0 reels and a big clumsy fiberglass rods. I now have trinidad and accurate reels with seeker and kevin bogan custom rods. It really makes a difference.
