Still getting info on my first major tune up on my '86 4.3L OMC. How do you know when you need a new distributer or if a cap is even needed? Also, how do you know when it is time for new plug wires? I got new plugs at the end of last season, so those should be good. I should be doing a compression test next week and if all is good there, I will move on to the timing. Lastly, I have never rebuilt a carb. My engine has a 2Bl Rochester, how hard is it to work on? Is cleaining it good enough? I assume it needs to be removed and taken apart, I am just worried about reassembling. I am looking for that closer to new engine feal. Any and all information is very appreciated. On a side note, I have an OEM service manual and Seloc. I am awaiting my factory and optional service catalogs, they shoud be here soon. Apparently they go more in detail on how to take things apart and how to reassemble.

Thanks again,
Steve
