I have a 1998 mercuries 350 EFI MPI
Engine Serial OL067176
Sterndrive OL153367

I recently had the timing checked by the mechanic and they said it was good and she was running good.

I replaced distributor cap, rotor and plugs today and I will replace the wires tomorrow.

The old spark plugs were the a/c delco however I used NGK BPR 6 EFS.

Today I went out for a cruise and I noticed the boat is just a little slow getting out of the hole. I would say one to two seconds off. Other than that, she ran fine and sounded great.

I was on the boat by myself and no water in the bilge.

Is there anything I should check?

Nothing wrong with the NGK plugs. Might check to see if you crossed a couple of plug wires.

image.jpgThank you Don. I found this in my book. Can anyone re-confirm that that's the firing order for my engine. Also, is the distributor cap marked? If so, what will the mark indicate?
