I have a friend who just bought a 16' aluminum boat with a tunnel hull. He wanted the boat for duck hunting and shallow water fishing. Neither one of us or the people we work with know anything about setting up and running a tunnel hull boat. Could someone explain the purpose of the vent line that goes down to the front of the tunnel. So far he has ran the boat with the motor at different hights and he has a problem with it porpoising when the vent is open. If he covers the vent it will line out and run smooth. Just thinking it through I thought the idea behind a tunnel hull was to pull water up and allow you to raise the motor for shallow water running.
