I?m new here and from what I?ve read this a cool site, I?m sure you can help me and in time I think I will be able to help others.
I bought a 1994 Fling with turbojet 115. It didn?t run but everything looked good and the price was about a third of the going price in this area. I put a stator in it and now it runs. My issue is no water flow through the engine. I removed plug, spring, and check ball, only to find they are clean and move freely. I tried to back flow water from the strainer to the jet pump housing and I get no flow. Is the water passage with the pressure relief ball, connected to the hose going to the strainer? With the spring and ball removed could in get garden hose water to go through the pump housing and then into the motor? I?m thinking the hose from pump to strainer may be plugged. I looked at most of the post here about turbojet and haven?t found any that talk of this issue. I will thank who ever now and again if I can get this cooling problem solved.
Thank You
Jim

Re: turbojet 115 cooling

I fixed my cooling issue. The hose fitting on the inside of the pump housing that the pump to strainer hose attaches to was packed with pebbles. I used the garden hose and some stiff wire, to clear the debris. WE took the boat to the lake and cruised about. No overheat, the engine run well at idle and mid RPM, but it would not get the boat on plain. I'm pleased that it cruised on the water, under it's own power, and no major issues. I will tackle the performance problem in the next few days.

Do a cyl drop test on it to see if it's running on all 4 cyl's.

Re: turbojet 115 cooling

I used a timing light and checked for spark at the four plug wires (yes to all 4) and the engine runs smooth with an even sound. My thinking is not enough throttle or total timing advance. It starts and idles well, and accelerates with no spit or sputter; it just doesn?t accelerate far enough. I will be out of town for most of the weekend, but my battle will resume soon. Thanks for looking and the words encouragement.

Re: turbojet 115 cooling

I didn't adjust timing and i don't know how. I used the timing light to check for spark. I'm new to two cycle motors & haven't received my service manual yet. Sorry I couldn't help
