After looking for a replacement prop and ending up with a Quicksilver that was for a large gear case (free prop) I ended up at West Marine. While there the salesguy recommended the Hustler after seeing my OMC S/S prop that was ported. I was looking at another quicksilver. He said for an aluminum prop they had the same feel as a S/S prop. The prop was $50 less with the hub than the Quicksilver. So I decided to give it a shot and bought a 13-1/4x17 for my 1969 Evinrude 115. I have taken my boat out twice with once being in the open ocean. I noticed a slightly quicker holeshot and a much better bite than my S/S prop had. I wish I had a working tach, but I could tell I was getting a higher rpm and a little more speed. The handling is a little quicker as well. On my previous boat I ran an OMC BRP Johnny/Rude prop and I can say for sure I think the Turning Point is better than the original. It's definitely lighter and comes ported. I will post more after some more time on the water.

Did you buy the 3 blade or 4 blade version of the Hustler? I really liked the 3 blade Hustler, but those have been discontinued in favor of the 4 blade version. I am on the fence about the 4 blade Hustler, since I have a high performance boat, and would really like a 2 blade prop.

Are you sure you have the correct information?
It appears they have done away with the Express prop for the new Legacy and Patriot.
These are the same props with a different hub system.
In a brief search I looked up props for my 88 Evinrude 50 only 3 blade props came up in a limited search.
Seems unlikely they would eliminate 3 blade props as they likely would be best all around for the average boater.

I have a TP Hustler. The performance you are talking about comes from the porting, blade rake, and cupping. TP said that they tried to make the alum prop as close to the performance of SS as they could. Only thing missing is thin blades which, even though they use a high performance aluminum, don't have the strength to match SS. This shows up at WOT and the higher speeds. At the low-mid range, you can't tell the difference.'

I picked up a 3 blade. I had considered a 4 blade. In all honesty for someone who just needs a reasonably priced prop that will get you to your fishing spots and not break the bank, then this is your prop. For the hub and prop I spent just shy of $150, just the prop alone by QS was about $160. Based on the areas I fish, age of my motor, budget and the stuff that one can hit I think I made a wise decision based on those conditions. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase. The hub kit is similar to that used by Quicksilver and the hub has a lifetime warranty provided that it is not used in a commercial application. I will post more about my feelings after some good long days on the water and running through Kelp.
