Which way would I turn the engine manually with a wrench and a break bar? Clockwise or counterclockwise.

Depends on the engine. Is it a standard or counter rotation engine? There are both.

Re: Turning the engine manually

You turn it in the direction that it spins when it's running, is the short answer.

If you have an alpha 1 drive behind that engine, then the engine is standard left hand rotation. What that means is when your faceing the front of it and looking at the pulleys, you spin the motor clockwise.
If your looking at the back of the engine, at the flywheel, you spin it counter clockwise. Hope that helps.

awesome, thanks!!!!! Well at least I know that it is not frozen. Now if I can just find out why I cannot get more than a single click from turning the key.
