Twenty-three years and counting

The wife & I celebrated our 23rd yesterday; it's the first marriage for both of us. <br /><br />What's our secret? A preacher's wife gave us some advice 21 years ago which we have followed "religiously" - seems to have worked: every night, always maintain some kind of physical contact. No ****, that's it.<br /><br />That, and the two rules of marriage:<br />1. She's right.<br />2. If she's wrong, see rule number 1.<br /><br />Or, in the immortal words of Red Green's famous Prayer for Men: "I'm a man. I can change. If I have to. I guess."

WTG, jtex, be 34 for the wife and I on the 11th. of February.<br />It is a strange thing anymore for a marriage to last, people are too worried about other things I guess to try to make them work.

Yep, and "we're all in this together". <br /><br />Will be 30 for me in May JT. Five of the best years of my life. <br /><br />Congrats!

15 years last August.<br /><br />Our secret is when I am really in trouble for breaking one of the rules, I go out and take a walk. Then I go back and we are calm enough to talk. Talking is the key to any long lasting relationship.<br /><br />Plus all of that fresh air and exercise is doing me good

Congrats jtexas. You got the same advice I did when I married.<br />Will be 36 years come sept 18th<br />If I had to go over i would marry the same woman again. This time around there would be better things shared between us.
