Does $4800 seem reasonable for twin 1998 150HP Mercury EFI Offshore outboards with 25" shafts? 250 hours operating time, stated to be well maintained and very strong. Price includes controls, gauges, and professional removal (possibly crating). The engines belong to a boat rental company (Freedom Boat Club) in the North East (thus the low hours?). I have seen pictures of both engines and no disrepancies were noted (actually very clean). I will conduct a sea trial and complete a compression check. Your thoughts and inputs are greatly appreciated.

Regards,
John

I have just spent $4000 to repair two Merc '90 135Hp, so if that offer would have past my nose over the past days, I would have done it. Offcourse if the engines really are in the state like mentioned in the add.
Do they have a maintenance record? Are they still installed and can you make testrun before you buy them? Do you need the 25" shaft?

The outboards are installed and ready for sea trial. I do require the 25" shaft. Thanks for your response.
