Okay folks let's see if if we can't make something happen here before the snowmobiles and ice augers come out.

When: the afternoon of September 25
Where: yet to be determined, Medicine Lake has been suggested.

I've spoken with Losdinspace and Chuckindiscs about getting our small fleet out together, but I have a feeling there are more Starmada lurking about the Twin Cities. Let's get a nice group photo of all our tin cans lined up together!

Any others interested?

I finished putting my Spirit back together so I am game. They wife is making plans already so my 5 year old son is coming with. If we go to Medicine they require a parking pass for $5 or if you have the 3 Rivers year pass. They also limit the number of spots so we woul have to get there early to beat the crowd. I don't know where the other launch is at but I heard there was one.

Hardy's Bait? Is that the name of the place on the South East corner? I seem to remember he charges to let you drive on during the winter, don't know about summer.

Anyone else?

Chuck said his attendance hinges on the arrival of his newest Starmada member, so that's one is up to the stars I s'pose.

I may cruise up there. I just ordered a carb kit for my boat so not sure she'll be in the water by then but it would be nice to put some faces to the screen names.

I am planning on attending, unless of course as discuessed, my newest starmada member is not here. Schedule is for the 21st but these things are like the weather, you just dont know.... :D

WHy are we thinking MEDICINE? Its fine with me, just wondering...? Minnetonka is a stones throw away, and I know the launch can get crazy but it's manageable. Greys has at least 100 parking spots. Maybe its a timing thing... not a problem, Ill go wherever the SC action is at!

Ill be bringing "Led better" with me and likely at minnimum my 5 year old co captain, perhaps my 2 year old deckhand as well (You dont make co captain until you are out of diapers and can pee of the side of the boat yourself:D)

AWESOME!

p.s. I think we should look into getting some gear local (I know a small stitch shop that would get us a decent deal, even bring in your own colors) in regards to the MN arm of the Starmada. Ill PM some info after I put it together...

Chuck

We don't need to do Medicine - I think Losd prolly mentioned it cause it's close to where my Islander sleeps - but hey I gotta trailer....

I'm not crazy about Minnetonka just cause it's so busy. Too many drunken Vikings.

Chuck - you're in South Saint Paul?

Losd - what part of town are you in?

Suggest some other lakes?

If we can get in and out of the launch easy I'm fine with Tonka. It's not prime ski weather so the should be less traffic. We thinking Grey's Bay?

How close is the little one Chuck?

Hey!

As far as other Lakes - There are numerous little one's around that the only issue is parking (under 20 spots). Prior Lake - By Mystic Lake, There is the Mississippi, Couple down In Eden Prairie, and more than a couple around the 35W and 694 area.

We are heading in tomorrow (Monday) to "launch" the little one! We should be back home, Id hope, by Thursday which, if everything is going good, should me that at minnimum myself and the two boys (maybe out of three, maybe not...) would be there.

HOPEFULLY Tonka has slowed...lots of them trouble makers back to school, etc BUT we will have to keep an eye on the weather. She can be a REAL PAIN if the wind comes up. I think Greys is still the best.

Well, the carb kit hasn't shown up yet so I won't have time to get the boat running right by Sunday. I'm also taking care of my parent's dog this weekend. So depending on when they plan on getting home I may at the very least be able to cruise up to the metro and meet those who make it to this gathering.

Let's lock in Tonka on Grey's bay. I agree the boat traffic is lessening quite a bit so space really shouldn't be an issue.

Toast we'd be happy to have you come up, but you really outta haul yer boat even if you're not putting it in. We wanna see it up close don't we fellas?

Re: Twin Cities Starmada Get Together

I believe I have everything I need to get the boat running and "sea worthy". I'm going to cross my fingers and hope I get a few light days at work which would give me time to pull that carb apart and clean it up. It's a little too expensive of a drive to haul the boat up to Minnetonka if I'm not putting it into the water.

If I do make it up with the boat you all just have to promise not to make fun of my trailer maneuvering skills, or rather the lack of skill.

Hey that's an easy one - just get there an hour before we do so you're already floating when we get there.

Re: Twin Cities Starmada Get Together

Hey y'all! The newest member of my immediate Starmada family landed on Tues morning just fine! Mommama power landed her like a champ! Momma now has her little girl to go along with the 2 boys and already informed me "there will be some pink on that boat!" :D. Ok with me!

I'm almost positive the 2 boys and I will be out Sunday for a ride and some pics with the MN-Starmada clan! I know it was stated as "afternoon" but do we have a general time-frame to at least be launching at Greys or docked at Grey's? Anytime should be good for us.

Re: Twin Cities Starmada Get Together

Hey congrats Chuck! Great to hear all is well with your newest.

How's 2 pm sound?

is this the spot?

That's it! We will be either pulling in with the boat and crew around 2, pulling up to the dock by 2 (note; The bigger set of docks are pay to store) or we will be floating just off of the launch,

Now that it sounds as though this may actually happen, what does one do at a high profile event like this( besides talk tin and grease)? :D

If I remember to bring night crawlers I might get some fish.
