Twins - torque tab settings

This sounds like a simple question but I am wondering what the answer might be.
I have twin 150F Yamaha motors and do not know how to set the torque tabs just above the props on each engine.

How do you go about this the right way?
Thank you

Re: Twins - torque tab settings

The torque tabs are there so that at a given speed, engine (or prop) torque reaction will be neutralized and the engine will steer straight. SO: Logic tells us that if both engines are the same rotation, both torque tabs would be set in the same direction and the same amount. Thus, you would adjust them so the boat would steer straight with both engines set to the same RPM

If the engines are counter-rotating, the torque reaction of one engine cancels the reaction of the other. Thus torque tabs would be almost unnecessary. They would both be set approximately dead ahead.

Re: Twins - torque tab settings

Thank you Frank,

They are counter rotating so I will try dead ahead on each.
