I did some searching, including on Yahoo hoping that something would come up, but nothing obvious did... I'm sure these questions have been asked before, so for that I apologize, although I did try the search on here also.

1. Where do you get 20 wt oil for the dual ram tilt/trim pump? Is there an approved equivalent?

2. In this day and age of gasoline that is not so good for old engines, would you A: run non-ethanol, but lower octane fuel, or would you B: run higher octane with the ethanol in it? I have easy and ready access to both. In my 1974 Evinrude I opted for the higher octane, since the motor was run several times a week through the summer. My "new" boat with the Merc 150 will see similar use. Thoughts?

I have never noticed a difference between higher or lower octane, but make sure you mix it with TC3 oil and not the stuff for lawnmowers/weed whackers /chainsaws.

I'm not sure about the trim pump oil, my guess would be; hydraulic-oil

Just use a #30 motor oil as a hydraulic fluid or 20-W30 or 20-W40.-----Using non ethanol fuel is best for motor and keeping carburetors clean.

Thanks much!! The trim pump is working well; just want to be ready in case. Duly noted on the ethanol...

I do not believe any one can wear out the gears in one of those trim pumps.

None ethanol fuel is hard to get up here in the great white north (only Shell fuel stations have it)
Adding a tiny bit of Methyl hydr. to a full tank works too. OR run fuel conditioner through your last tank of the season

I believe that fuel bought at a marina is " sans ethanol "-----And yes I know that it is more money.

I'm just going by my experience/situation & there are other solutions to "deal" with the ethanol

Methyl Hydrate (Methanol) is even worse for corroding Fuel Systems

Yes!! can be; if left is system (don't leave in the tank or hoses/lines)
but to clean your tank its works good.

I run fuel conditioner through the "last tank" of the season and 7 months later the motor(s) start with no fuel/carb. issues
