1985 Evinrude 15HP. What is a good two cycle mix oil to use? Are there any brands and/or types that should be avoided? Thanks in advance.

Re: Two Cycle Oil Question

Any oil rated TCW-3, should be fine. I've used Super Tech brand from Wally mart for years with no problems. The rating means Two Cycle, Water cooled, 3rd generation. Don't use oil meant for air cooled engines, (chain saws, lawn mowers, etc.)

Synthetic TCW-3 oils are supposed to burn cleaner, more enviro friendly, but cost more.

Mix it at 50:1, gas to oil. 1 pint oil to 6 gals. gas.
