Two cycle oil

Is it really that important to use only evinrude oil in my mix. ? Isnt two cycle oil, just two cycle oil? Mike

You can use any kind that you want as long as it's TCW-3

there are several 2 cycle, you need TC-W3 outboard motor oil, as Defiant said.

i run wally world or penzoil or merc whatever tcw3 is all ya need
i will say this i ran some really cheap stuff tcw3 its smoked alot more
but i decarb so it dont matter

What model and year evinrude do you have. I believe some of the newer etecs and the like have more stringent oil requirements then just TCW-3.

Edit: Then, of course, if you had one of those you wouldn't be premixing would you? Nevermind.
