two outboars side by side

hello all please help...i have a 77 glassmaster 17`fiberglass trihull bass boat....currently has a 70hp outboard and i want to mount a 20hp next it with seperate throttle control and join the two together somehow for steering (20hp for the hp resrticted lakes) problem is there is not enough room to do so with the 70 right in the middle,how big of a deal is it to move the 70 over to make room and have either one off center when while running?also the 70 is a long shaft and the 20 a short...with it mounted beside the 70 it looks like it would be in the water far enough(cause of the v shape in the back)is far enough so that it sucks water good or should it be deeper regardless? thank you for any response
