Two Person Towable Tube Recommendations?

I'm looking to buy a 2-person towable tube for under $200. It will be used primarily to pull my 7-year old daughter and an accompanying adult. But it will be used sometimes to pull two adults as well.

I've looked at various websites and can't believe the number of styles and choices out there! My wife thinks she wants to have a cockpit style tube (as opposed to the flatter deck style tubes) because our daughter will sit lower in the tube. As a result, I'm considering the Airhead Viper 2, Sportsstuff SpeedZone 2, and the RaveSports Tirade. I will also be buying the appropriate size tow rope.

Does anyone have any specific recommendations or other things I should consider when buying a 2-person tube? Are some brands typically more reliable/better constructed than others?

Thank you in advance for any insights you might have. Thanks.

I purchased a 3 man Sea-doo tube in Canada from a place called Costco. They are a large Walmart type store. The sea-doo tube costed me 189.00 canadian funds and works great. I have had 2 adults that weigh together over 500 lbs on it and it worked great for them. I can find you a # for Costco if you are interested. let me know. Good luck

We bought a HO Sports Formula 2 around the 4th of July from The Sports Authority (local store, don't see it online). It's a cockpit style tube, we LOVE it. It is great, we have a 6 year old son, 3 year old son and 6 and 8 year old nephew/niece. The older kids can ride in it together, one per side. For our 3 year old, my wife or I ride next to them.

We don't really go too fast, keep them in the wake for now, but they have a blast. And when it's time for us adults to get in, we speed the boat up a bit and have a great time too. When we're anchored at the sand bar, it gives us "another boat" for kids to spread out in.

We paid $150 after coupon/discount.

Highly recommended.

I hadn't thought of the Big Bertha. The WalMarts and sporting goods stores around here don't have much of anything. But I see online that it's 68" wide total. But does anyone know how wide/how much room there is in the center of the Big Bertha?

The Viper 2 is a very safe and stable tube. The kids love it!
