Two stroke oil leaks from fill cap?

[2004 Voyager]

With motor tilted all the way up, oil will dribble out of the top of the reservoir, even with the cap fully tightened. Cap seems to "jump" threads if overtightened. but does not appear stripped. O-ring looks good, should I replace? This is on a 2001 ELPTO 75 Horse mercury outboard. Anybody else have this problem?

Common issue, replace the cap and it should work for a while.

Thanks ondarvr, seems obvious, just needed affirmation, make sure there is not something I'm missing
