Okay, I am good with doing everything in single color to reupholster my boat. The more that I look at it though I am thinking that a two tone WHT/Blu or GRY/Blu would look so much nicer. The only thing is that I have never done more than one color before and need the lowdown to make a decision. Do I need a special sewing machine, special thread ect. Thanks Kep.

If you are sewing marine vinyl, yes you do need a very good sewing machine. One that could handle the material. I have done two tone material buy sewing the different colors pieces together ending up with one peice to put over the thing to be upholsteres. Waterproof thread would be a must.
Good Luck Roman

Any decent sewing maching should be able to handle the vinyl. You'll want some special thread (nylon), 'cause most others will wear-out quickly. Along with the thread, you'll have to get needles to handle the thicker thread (available most anywhere). You can get marine vinyl at JoAnnes, but the quality isn't up to some of the truly better stuff (there's some other posts in this same forum about where to get it from).

If you need specific help, or even if you just want to browse, I've found the Upholster Magazine Forum one of the best.
