I have a 1990 Force O.B. 50 h.p. 2 cycle. What octane gas is best to use?

I moved this to the Force OB section We try and keep the boat section free of engine topics. Good luck!!!!

The manual for my '88 lists 87 octane, with E10 being acceptable.

If you can get non oxygenated gas go for that. It typically comes in a medium to high octane. If not stay with 87 octane gas. Higher octane gas will give you more issues with carbon build up and will not burn as efficiently as lower octane gas.

The only difference with octane ratings is that a higher octane burns slower....stick to what the maker says as the timing is related to the octain rating.
