I found an old thread that lists automotive u-joint that work for a mercruiser alpha One gen. II outdrive. And it gives part numbers. I have a 1997 volvo/penta SX-c1 1:85 outdrive. Would the same u-joints work in mine. if not does any one have part numbers for my v/p outdrive ? Sorry I would put the link to the thread I am referring to in this thread if I only knew how. I know that would help you tell me if they are the same. From this spot i copied something fro
The other thread about part numbers hope this helps me get a clearer answer to my question, that is will these part numbers be the same for my sx-c1 volvo penta outdrive? Copied from here; I just went through this myself, along with the number Don gave, here's a more complete list that your auto parts guy can do something with:

SPICER# 5-1306X
ROCKFORD# K1306
DETROIT# 7260
NEAPCO# 1-6300 / 1-6301
PRECISION (MOOG)# 315G
TRW (FEDERAL MOGUL)# 20030 / 20030P

Re: U-Joint replacements

Look at your ujoints, do you have inside or outside keepers?

Re: U-Joint replacements

Then the numbers you posted are the right ones. Just make sure they haven't put grease zirks on the caps.

Re: U-Joint replacements

The caps stick out past the ends of the drive shaft and all the couplers by about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. I am wondering if someone put the wrong bearings in it They don't usually cone out past the cast part of the holes for the caps do they? I am using the wrong word to describe the actual parts they the u-joints go into but I am at a lose for the correct term for it. Sorry

I did see the picture of the grease zert in the cap in that thread. That seams crazy. I will for sure check and not get u-joints that have the fitting on the cap
Thanks for all your help

Nope, not the wrong ones. Those type bearings always stick out a little.
