Well I tried to upload a pic but I can't make it smaller so no go. I finally was able to get a battery in the Sunrunner today and was able to lift the drive all the way up. Found the cooling fitting going to the drive almost gone with corrosion and the hose going to the transom and engine hanging loose with no clamp.

I assume this has been this way for a while...so my question is how much damage could it have done to the seawater pump...and is this a part that I could possibly find? The boat was slipped for a few years and when I pull the upper off to change the bellows (which are junk) I will have easy access to change it. Anyone run into this problem before?

AQ231b and 285 outdrive....

Common problem. Part is available from Volvo or Sierra. About $18 on eBay. The casting should be changed every other year along with your bellows.

If your bellows are shot, you may need a new u-joint shaft and u-joints.

Yeah Scott I will find out the next disaster for sure shortly. She was slipped from 05-07 and has been laid up in a dry barn since. So basically all the rubber down low is toast.

Are there any anodes I can find for this drive to kill the electrolysis?
