new really really annoying glitch today

hey iboats_tim Kiter007 . the problematic footer now worse than it has ever been and is flashing like crazy when trying to PM people. to the point messaging is useless because the !@#$!@#$!@#$!@#$!@#$#!@#$!$!@!!@#$! footer that keeps popping up keeps popping up. Please disable that POS function. also, the same header that keeps poping up is also problematic. feel free to contact myself and/or mickyryan

Since Tim or Kiter won't be responding, so combined both threads for colonel_sanders .

Is the bottom block blocking the Cancel/Preview/Post Reply buttons? What I've found is when that happens and you're ready to post a PM, toggle Advanced Editor and the buttons sometimes show. Another thing is to click the Reply button on top of the PM page and sometimes the bottom buttons show so you can post the PM. If you scroll to the top of the page, you should see these;

Notice I said sometimes - I won't defend what the PM system has evolved to. Not happy with it either.

Profile editing is almost non-existent right now. I haven't been able to get my forum time right since the time change and it bugs me because all posts are an hour in the future. So no defense here either.

Would it help to say we know and are trying to find out why VB hates us? Didn't think so. We need a witch doctor to remove the curse.

JB - I sent you a PM since Notifications aren't notifying.

Can I give a super big shout out and thanks to the moderators on this site. I think it's safe to say most people would have thrown up their hands and walked away from this years ago.

Don
got your PM, but couldnt reply....

On my mobile, your PMs text window is entirely off the right side of the screen in portrait mode and only on the right half of the screen in landscape, but readable, barely...

However, when I try to reply, the keyboard covers the entire reply text box, or at least the bottom half... the iboats PM/message header covers the entire top half.... cant even see 1 row of text @ my reply.....

Worthlesss.... oops... at least it wasnt jumpy.

yeah its so odd , its actually the bottom table keeps jumping that says stay connected and has the captcha box on the pms , the edit just does the spinning loop if that helps as painful as it might be , maybe its time for another software for the forums .

that is the header and footer over-lay that was added for the retail side of the site. that is what has been screwing up PM's and the forums for over 6 months. the header drops down every time the cursor goes near the top, and the footer raises up regardless. really tires of seeing thee captcha box from the footer or the box anchor from the header

most of these problems would be solved if the development team actually used the forums. they dont, so they dont see the issues.

Scott Danforth I've been able to replicate the seizure inducing blinking but only on mobile. Was this also happening on a desktop environment? The header and footer code is shared across all parts of the site otherwise i'd neuter the header and kill the footer. I'm creating a ticket to fix the blinking/scrolling. Will update when i know more.

It's like your super-power! (Much to the chagrin of your liver.)

OmniQuip Textron would use me to break the databases because I was one of the most active users and discovered some of the remote computer hand-shake problems when you tried to remote in on early cellular hot-spots while driving down I-65

Cummins used me to beta test software because of my super power after I was able to take down the server farm in Torronto when they rolled a script out to update Lotus Notes, and the IT dept had the script auto-run if you opened the email. they missed the fact that if you have the pre-read window configured and simply scroll thru the emails, it counts as "opening" the email and launched the update script, and every time I would tab thru my screens I was re-running the script.........which cause a cascading event.... when our local server did its best Sheldon Cooper grimace face and twerk..... the servers in Torronto went into a spasm.

Try using the PM link in post #18. It really does work. I don't know why, but it somehow bypasses the Mexican jumping bean effect.

I cant remember all the special instructions to use the forums

I had a car once that to get the cassette to come out, required you to press eject, while having the fan on high and slapping the dash.

Used it in a demo derby to give it a fitting burial.

we had a printer/copier once in the engineering department that would only copy if you opened the lid first. IT tried to get it repaired for about 2 years...... eventually they gave up and I helped the IT department head toss it in the dumpster from the roof of the building....... it was spectacular and satisfying
