Unbelievable!

I see two threads in the last 3 years and no one has stepped up to even try to help?

I have the same issue is how I found the two threads.

My exhaust has corroded through and is leaking into the cowl, making it impossible to run while cowled.

It will also not be good for the lower engine well because of heat and exhaust corrosion.

But I am now looking for much of the same information the fellows that were ignored, as I assume I will be too.

Parts would be the best thing for me. I have the manual.

Re: Unbelievable!

If the other 2 threads are worded like this one it is easy to see why they were ignored. You know the problem, you know the fix, and you haven't asked any questions. Then there is always the possibilty no one knows the answer.

What part of this says I know the fix?

I don't believe a sarcastic statement is actually an answer. Do you know where I can find parts and information? I realized that I have an owners manual, not a shop manual.

Re: Unbelievable!

Hmmmm. I see that you are complaining about being ignored even before you posted, gus-gus. I also see that you have a problem.

I do not see a make, model or year of your outboard, and I don't see a question.

Insulting our helpers is an almost bulletproof way to get ignored. Sort of a self fullfilling prophesy.

Check this out: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=250876

Then try again. Good luck. :)

Yep, your posted data is extremely poor, have not specified brand, model, HP to start with, how about posting some pics of the problem, sometimes better than one hundred written words...

Re: Unbelievable!

The sarcasm started with the thread title, continued on through the body of the post and yet you have the audacity to complain about sarcasm in the replies???

Re: Unbelievable!

Consider the possibility that gus-gus, completely out of character, is simply looking for a fight. That is called a troll.

I have no idea why he would do that, but he came on hostile in post #1. Nobody could be that stupid after over 150 posts.

Re: Unbelievable!

Not a troll, but was quite disappointed, in searching for what I thought was a not so common trouble and found it was common enough in old threads. No one even said hello or tried to answer their questions.
Whether or not I asked for help is not the issue with me. I have found some of the information needed. Well enough to satisfy my curiosity and planning. I said my piece and I am done.

Re: Unbelievable!

So you are ripping everyone because no one knew the answer,,, to other member's question from years ago. Something the other forum members may have no idea of how to repair?

Look back through the archives, there are plenty of threads with no responses.....

Re: Unbelievable!

I am really confused by this whole thread.

I still have no idea what outboard gus-gus has trouble with, what information he wanted, what threads from the past he is complaining about or what sort of responses they got/didn't get.

You found some of the info needed. Aren't you going to post it here and try to help someone else out?

Although not perfect, that's why this forum is so popular and works so well. Members helping other members.

Best wishes and good luck

Ditto  Providing links apparently is too much work for our buddy, yet the irony is nobody will work a little to help out? This thread is obviously bugging a number of us. I am going to start a hijack to give it a purpose:

I LOVE how helpful iboats members are to each other. There is always someone with experience or ideas for even the most obscure issue!! Awesome! Thanks to all of you :)
