I have a 280 regal with a 10ft beam. Its a big cruiser, twin 5.0lx mercr.,with alphas.weighs around 9-9500 lbs.Factory props are 141/2 x 17 and the boat cruises nicely with them.If it is choppy and I trim the drives up,they cavitate before they trim up much.I know I am not trimming them up too much because it cavitates so quickly and the drives are still way down.Could I be underpropped????? Thanks for the reply Northern Eclipse. The props are new ,alum. and I assume they are cupped.I have to check the wot,the boat is new to me and I have not really nailed it yet.Twin 5.olx mercr. i/os with alphas. It is a wide and heavy boat,I cruise nicely at 32-3400 rpms with plenty left to go.I just cant trim it up,as soon as I trim up a little I can hear the sound of cavitation.
