Anyone have one? I'm looking at a used SeaLife DC310, and wondering if anyone has any feedback on them. Or, do you have a different brand/model? Thanks

Re: Underwater cameras

I have used one of thier old reefmaster(film) cameras and was really dissappointed. On our last trip I purchased housing for my wifes sony digital and we were much happier with the images.

I like the seperate housing setup because it still leaves you with a compact camera for on land use.

Re: Underwater cameras

i work in the world of video surveillance cameras and alarms. i made an underwater camera from an outdoor bullet camera. i attached 50' of video cable to it and used marine silicone to seal any connections. on the other end i use my eyepiece i have to adjust cameras, but you can use a small 12 volt black and white tv. you can get those in wal mart and other stores, usually for around 20 bucks.

Re: Underwater cameras

I used to use one way back in the day it was called atlantis or something like that....It was pretty cool i used it for ice fishing and the very first time i dropped it down in the water i was in about 20fow and it wasnt down there but 1 min tops and i had a pike circleing it like a great white.I just payed 300 bucks for this thing used and got scared and pulled it up as fast as i could.I couldnt tell how big the fish was but i do remember seeing teeth and a big eye.I do know one thing the infrared spooks some fish and attracts others.Low light fish do not like it bluegills i used to jig for the and watch them hit my jig it was so cool at the time.Unfortunatly it grew legs and walked away lol..But they are fun to play with. But you get what you pay for...

Re: Underwater cameras

I was thinking about getting one myself. I seen a whole setup for sale at a camp ground a while back, can't remember the brand though, it was black and white. I personally like the idea of the housing for a regular digital. If you had the right materials you could build a housing. I have 3 camcorders around, one I surely wouldn't use to save my life though, I won it at a picnic that we had for the one job I use work at.

Underwater camera plus my home made dredge I built, might be able to find and retrieve some hung lures, rod's and reels, sunken aluminum boats, etc etc. Plus I wanna see what type and how big the fish are that keeps jumping in this one area on the lake, most likely stripe but they are huge.
