Crappie, Speckled Perch,Speck, Skin-jawed bream. Samey-same.. And yummy. We have them down here mostly in lakes. They school, but like Trent says, you need to come to them. They feed in two dimensions in the water collum,and wont go up or down to take your bait. We also use the generators with clamp-on light fixtures at night. It's that crappie time of year due to the fact that the skeeters are hiding.<br />I love crappie fishin at night with a good friend!!! I even took the name tags off my Bayliner Capri, re-arranged the letters, and glued them back on... It now reads, "CRAPI".<br /><br />You were right, Schematic..AWESOME housing design!! I'm off to the garage to whip one out!! Thanks.<br />Trent, the wiring-up is very easy. There are only 4 wires to hook up to the camera.2 power, and two line out. Use 75OHM TV cable for best reults, and keep it's length less than 100ft.<br />Lights are two more wires,but you can rig it up to run off the camera's power and elliminate the extra two. I prefer seperate,so I can run a dimmer on the light head.

Up here we have Yellow perch. They don't bite at night. They have spines on their back that hurt like hell. They get to around 1 - 2 lbs. They have been really suffering lately due to water levels.

Schematic. Thanks for the tip. I have saved them as PDF files too. I'm just paranoid. Had a computer "poof" on me about six months ago and lost ALOT of good stuff.<br /><br />You're right, cold does tend to "fuse" things!

I am interested in purchasing an underwater camera and i have been looking into an Aqua view model. As i read down this page i saw several other suggestions that seem to me to be not only cheaper but a lot more fun (i love building stuff). Could anyone tell me where i can find these parts (namely the camera and a makeshift casing)?

There are several types out there, but I prefer the 'Bow' as it has a white rubber type seal rather than other which had neoprene or plastic. If I remember right it was a 1 1/2"<br />-the pipe is standard ABS from local hardware store<br />-the outer steel pipe is just for weight, so anything that will fit will do. Just be sure to paint it inside and out first.<br />-the water-tight connector came from a local electrical wholesaler. I believe it had a 1/2"pipe thread. Choose one that is the right wire size to fit your wire used. The one I used was a 1/2" strain relief cord connector #2520 made by Thomas/Betts. Be sure the threads are sealed well to the cap. Use Silicone-II to seal threads.<br />-the cable.......oh yes the cable.....after alot of experimenting, I ended up using a multi-conductor computer cable. Its common at any electronic supplier. It has a grey vinyl jacket. I believe it had 10 or 12 conductors. Since the camera I used had such a high signal output, coaxial is not needed. The water tight fitting will only seal one cable at a time. I used 80' cause thats the depth of our lake.<br />-the lens is the hard part. I have a lathe in my basement, so I'm spoiled. I machined a step in a 1/2" piece of plexi-glass. It seals incredably well with the adapter. You could try just a 1/4" piece without the step. Then put in a spacer where the step would have gone. That would keep the seal in place.<br />-you will also have to put in a little regulator circuit, as the camera doesn't like anything over 12V. I built this into the housing to compensate for line loss. When you get to this point, ask for help if needed (cheap+easy)<br /><br />*Don't forget to glue the pipe and fittings together with ABS cement!!!

I have an idea of where to look for the parts here in my area and i'll try to keep in touch with you so that if i have any probs (and i'm sure i'll find one or two somewhere) you can help me along. So far it seems like a project i can handle but one i'd never have come up with on my own. I don't know much about camera's, just something i've never delt with. I'll probably request the same model you have, or is there another one you'd suggest instead? Thanks for everything again, talk soon, for now i'm gonna go do some work on my engine and build a little casting deck on my boat.
