Afrwe fighting many other issue i hope this (and the other current thread i have going) are the last 2 ans i can have an enjoyable season this year. I will leave the other thread and it's realated issues out of this one to save confussion....
this may be 2 issue but i hope it is only one..... last fall when on the water i noticed that after it would plane out and run up to 4200 almost 4300 rpm it would slowly start to loose rpm and hold off about 3800-3900 but other trhen that it would seem to run just fine.....after doing some checking and testing on that thinking that is was a fuel pump or pressure it i pull the steal line (this is only for testing and i will put it back in after issue is figured out) and put in a rubber line with a t and a guage. The guage is showing between 5-7 pounds pretty steadly at 6 psi. what is causing the loss of rpm AFTER it is on plain?
the other issue is when i had it fired up (on the muffs) yester day i noticed that it was not holding one steady rpm or tone(for lack of a better term)i sounded like it was put under a slight load then it would smooth back out then do it again.... the choke plate was open and fuel pressure was the same as mentioned before.... could carb need to be rebuilt? the previous owner calaimed it was done what is now 3 years ago but, when fighting a differant issue (not idleing below 1100rpm) i took it apart to find a clogged orffice and put it back together... pleast advise and many thnaks to all that has helped
