Re: Uniden depth finder question/repair.

How funny - I have the same depth finder and just went through the same thing. Try setting the sensitivity dial on the back. I did that, and mine started working fine. The dial is really touchy - first I adjusted it too much, and it wasn't sensitive enough, and doubled the depths. I eventually got it right - you just need to play with it in the water, in a spot where you basically know the depth.

I removed mine from the dash at first so I could see the dial - but I didn't need to. Now that I know where it is, I can adjust the dial without removing it and it is easy to adjust.

Here is a link to the manual for your model. I just bookmarked it for myself last week.

Thanks for that reply. I will try it this weekend hopefully and report back.

I have low water where I boat and really need it.

Hmm, my Hummingbird Depth Finder only displays depth every once in a while, other times blank. When it displays its accurate as far as I can tell by charts.

Re: Uniden depth finder question/repair.

I have a Lowarance depth finder and it blinks 0.0 also. Yesterday i noticed it would read triple numbers and kept flashing and i know i wasn't in that deep of water. I also have the same problem out of my Hummingbird only giving me a depth reading when i'm going slow. I think that my problem with that is when i was on the river it was VERY choppy and the paddle on the back of the boat for the Hummingbird had popped up and it's supposed to be angled down with the back of the hull. Try seeing if that's your problem with the Hummingbird.

Also make sure the transducer cable pins are clean and the cable is tight

Make sure the transducer is clean and it is pointing straight down not kicked up or something.

Also check the voltage to the unit and make sure it is getting 12.6 or more.

This was a very common problem on Birds back about 4 years at anything over trolling speed.

Sometimes you just get lucky. I took apart my dashboard and noticed that the white wire from the transducer was off.

Thanks for the advice.
