I have a Uniden Solara VHF radio that works great. The only problem is the microphone gasket. Where can I get parts for a Uniden radio? Uniden was no help. They said to send them the entire radio and they'll rebuild it for $85. I can buy a new radio for $120. The microphone is build like a clam shell......remove 4 small screws and the back comes off the front. A thick, blue rubber gasket seals the front to the back, and also covers the trx button. The gasket is cracked pretty badly at the trx button. If there was a rubber, flexible glue, I could try to repair the gasket and continue using the microphone. I would prefer to buy a new gasket. Any ideas on where to find such a gasket??? Or ideas about what sort of glue to use to seal the gasket at the trx button so it will stay waterproof??? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Put a sandwich bag over it. Sound will go through. Could try a thin layer of RTV but I doubt it will work for long.

I've tried the baggie. Leaking is not the problem. The problem is the gasket forms part of the trx button. I need the gasket. What is RTV? Anyone know a salvage supplier for marine radios, or know where I can buy a used or new gasket? Uniden is no help.
