Uniden UM425 VHF losing Sound

My VHF is acting weird since last week.

It will lose sound after one or two minutes operating.

Turn on and switch to the WX channel, sound is clear and crisp, after about a minute sound will start to "gurgle" and become totally incomprehensible and few second after that no more sound come out of the speaker. VHF is still able to transmit, but no sound when receiving.

If I turn it off, wait few minutes and turn it back on, sound is back...for a few seconds/minutes.. and quite again

Any sugestions ?

Disconnect the accessory connector to see if the problem continues. If you don't use the accessory connector ... The manual shows the radio side of the accessory connector to be male pins. If that's the case, make sure the pins are not touching any metal. This could cause a short that could overheat the output to the speaker.

I do use it for the gps connection, but unplug it just in case...no luck
Tomorrow it will be on the way back to Uniden for warranty service ( luckily this unit have a 3 years.. )
